I have heard estimates of the war effort costing close to a trillion dollars…I would much rather had a satellite that could produce energy on the scale of the worlds oil production.

I agree, Mac. It’s a very interesting concept but still a long way to go until it becomes close to a reality. Perhaps if T. Boone Pickens were to pick up the idea…

Solar energy has being highly developed in countries like Spain and Germany, where they have installed new tracker systems that follow the direction of the sun to collect more energy, but the idea of having sun-following satellites is really interesting… although still not viable.

Spending one trillion Dollar to building a satellite and to provide energy using the sun is very expensive, and I think that all that money should invest to build wind farms around the word.
