Wind Power | Blaengwen Wind Farm
Plans for the Blaengwen Wind Farm in Wales have been solidified with joint owners Force 9 Energy, Statkraft and Catamount Energy Corporation announcing that Siemens Wind Power has been selected to provide the turbines. The project will be the first of the partners’ four wind power projects in the UK to be completed.
The location of the Blaengwen Wind Farm will be in a range of hills near Pencader north of the town of Carmarthen in South Wales. It will consist of 10 wind turbines which will have an installed capacity of 23MW.
Turbine deliveries will start in the summer of 2009 and the wind farm will enter into commercial operations by autumn 2009. The plans for the wind farm were approved by Carmarthenshire County Councillors in March 2007.
