Finavera Renewables has begun construction on the first phase of the Three Hills Wind Power project. This is a two phase project that will result in a total power capacity of 150 MW with each phase supplying 75 MW. The first phase has been titled Ghost Pine with construction due to begin in 2008 and the commercial operations to commence late in 2009.

The Ghost Pine wind farm project which is located in Alberta, Canada is subject to meeting the necessary environmental requirements. The submission for planning approval is being made to the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board.

The entire project – which will also include a second phase of 75MW and has been called Lone Pine – will be sited on 16,000 acres of land.

When Finavera company CEO Jason Bak made his activities announcement at the beginning of 2008 it was mentioned that financing negotiation were taking place. These negotiations appear to remain ongoing.
