Plans for a proposed new wind farm that will be developed by Horizon Wind Energy have been approved by the Carbon County Planning Commission. The wind farm has been slated to be built between Hanna and Medicine Bow, Wyoming.
The proposal puts the size of the wind farm at 154 turbines, but there have been concerns from locals who are worried that the construction of the wind farm could harm the natural or cultural resources of the area.
After the county planners raised more questions than Horizon Energy was able to answer, but this time Horizon was able to give a comprehensive presentation that impressed the commission.
Construction of the wind farm is expected to begin either in 2010 or 2011.
